Due to the CoViD crisis, Sisters’ Voices is moving camp online this summer and changing the format from our usual.
Sisters’ Voices camp will run for four weeks, July 13 through July 31. The first week will be a leadership workshop open to our oldest singers and recent graduates. The other three weeks there will be a morning session, called CAMP, open to 2nd-5th graders and an afternoon session, Writing Workshop, open to 4th-8th graders.
CAMP will be an all-come experience with different activities to entertain and engage young minds, hearts, and voices. Younger siblings (with parental support if necessary) will be welcome at no extra charge.
Writers’ Workshop will be a more intimate experience of addressing challenging questions, discussing, writing, and reflecting on each other’s ideas and written expression.
Fees are on a sliding scale; please pay what you are able. We do not turn people away because of an inability to pay, so let us know if you need a further reduced fee; and if you can pay more, please do. Email us at email@example.com.
If you registered for camp before mid-March, you will have the option of a full refund or of using the amount you paid for any of the below options. We will contact you individually. Please contact Leandra with any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Week of July 13-17
Who can register? SV-Three and 2020 alumnae (rising 6th-9th graders; 9th graders must have been part of SV for the 2019-2020 season).
M-F, 1:00-4:00 (Approximately two hours per day will be on Zoom [some all together, some breakout], and the other hour will be either on Zoom or working independently.)
Participants will tackle tough questions using three resources:
- The Enneagram Made Easy
- Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
- Selections from Brené Brown’s Daring Leadership tools
Participants will learn a lot about themselves and each other through engaging materials and discussions. Part of the workshop will involve helping with planning for CAMP for SV-One and SV-Two singers for the upcoming weeks. Participants in the Leadership Workshop will be invited to assist with CAMP leadership for the weeks of July 20-24, July 27-31, and August 3-7.
The weeks that Leadership Workshop participants lead CAMP, they must be available for potential planning, discussion, and feedback sessions in the afternoons between 3:00 and 5:00. (Only participants in the July 13-17 Leadership Workshop may help with CAMP leadership for SV-One and SV-Two.)
Cost: $200 per participant covers the cost of the week-long workshop and materials, plus feedback after leadership time with CAMP. Please sign up by June 26 so that we can order books and have them here in time.

Participants may sign up by week.
Participants will need blank white paper, markers or colored pencils, a table or board to bear on while writing or drawing, and space to spread out, as well as internet access.
Cost: Sliding scale, $75-$125 per week per family
Week of July 20-24 (stories)
Week of July 27-31 (poetry)
Who can register? SV-Two and SV-Three (rising 4th-8th graders)
Meeting together over Zoom, participants will explore current events and our own reflections on the world around us, and we’ll take pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and write. Each week will have its own focus: writing stories (week 1), writing poems (week 2), and reflections on our current lives (week 3). There will be lots of writing activities and thinking activities. Curiosity building. Idea generating. Participants will write, share, and offer each other ideas and feedback.
Participants will need a quiet space to work where there is a computer or tablet and internet service. They’ll also need their choice of paper and writing utensils. Resources will be shared with participants over email and through the Sisters’ Voices Google Classroom. Singers may sign up by week.
Cost: Sliding scale, $75-$125 per week per participant
