Director of Operations (Part-Time)
Sisters’ Voices – Nonprofit Girls Chorus and Leadership Program
Sisters’ Voices, a growing nonprofit organization, seeks a highly organized and passionate Director of Operations to oversee the day-to-day functioning of our chorus and leadership program. This position has the potential to grow into a more substantial role within the organization as the organization continues to grow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit management, financial experience, a love for music education, and a commitment to empowering young women.
Position Details:
- Part-time role: 10 hours per week during the academic year, less in the summer
- Work is primarily remote; some events and meetings will be in person
- Starting hourly rate: $32 per hour, depending on experience
About Sisters’ Voices:

Responsibilities:
1. Program Management
- Coordinate rehearsal schedules, performance logistics, and special events
- Manage participant enrollment, attendance, and communication with families
2. Financial Management
- Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with the Artistic and Executive Director and Board of Directors
- Oversee fundraising efforts and donor relations
- Manage accounts payable and receivable using QuickBooks
- Process payments through Stripe and PayPal
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis
3. Administrative Duties
- Maintain organizational records and databases using Google Suite
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements
- Manage office operations, including supplies and equipment
- Work with other staff and Board to develop and maintain Financial, Personnel, and other policies
- Run payroll through ADP
- Work with Board chair and staff to prepare for board meetings
- Help with recruitment and onboarding of new Directors on the Board
- Attend monthly Board meetings and annual Board Retreat
4. Community Outreach and Digital Presence
- Represent Sisters’ Voices at community events and networking opportunities
- Manage social media (Instagram, Facebook) and marketing efforts to promote the organization
- Manage and regularly update the organization’s WordPress website
- Create and send newsletters using MailChimp
- Design promotional materials using Canva
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Arts Administration, Finance, or related field, or comparable experience
- 3 or more years of experience in nonprofit management or arts administration
- Strong financial management skills and experience
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial analysis
- Familiarity with music education programs (choral experience a plus)
- Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn the following platforms:
- QuickBooks for financial management
- Google Suite for administrative tasks
- WordPress for website management
- Stripe and PayPal for payment processing
- MailChimp for email marketing
- Canva for graphic design
- Instagram and Facebook for social media management
- Passion for empowering young women through music and leadership development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with grant writing
